Lili of the Valley Christmas card

Hi all, well it's been a long time AGAIN! but today I am back with a christmas card that I made over the weekend. The image on this card is from Lili of the Valley, i'm not sure of the name of the stamp. I coloured the stamp with Pro Markers and then added it to a white card blank. Then I took a piece of Kraft cardstock and cut the centre out using my nestabilities and then added it to the card with 3D foam pads.
The sentiment on the bottom is out of the MFT stamp set called Inspired by Christmas. I hope you like this card. I really need to get on and make some more christmas cards as Christmas seems to be approaching fast!
Enjoy your week

A friends birthday card.

Well what a stunning day it has been today, it's so nice to have some sunny days, although I have heard a few people complain about the heat!
Anyway here is a card that I made for my friend Jo for her birthday last week. It is a book card and took a little while to make but I feel the end result was worth the time I spent on it.

The image is from C.C Designs and she has been coloured with Pro markers. The papers I used are from Graphic 45 and are from the collection called "A ladies diary" These are truly beautiful papers.
Here is a view from the side, The card is kept closed with a bow tied on the side.
And here is the inside of the card. It is very hard to photograph this card as the light is so bright it makes the inside of the card appear dark in the photo. But below is a closer shot which gives you a better idea of how the inside looks.
I am very pleased to say that my friend loved it which is a relief! I hope you like it too.
Enjoy this lovely weather, be back soon with another card.

More My Favourite Things

Well Good Morning and Happy weekend, I have had such a busy week with lots of running around being taxi service for my younger son, he is getting ready to leave primary school and starts senior school in October. Can't believe I will have no more school runs!
Anyway onto the card. I made this card using stamps and dies from MFT. I cut the pallet out of wood venre which looks really effective. and then once I added to paint die cuts I coloured them and then added Glossy accents over the top.
The Little image has been coloured with Pro markers and her appron has been paper pieced with the same designer paper that was used for the card.
Here is a close up, hope you like it. Have a great weekend whatever you might be doing.

Keeping it simple

Well Hello!! I don't know about you but I am soooo fed up of this rain! it has been raining here all day. So the only thing to do after the house had been cleaned was to craft.
I don't know about you, but my memory is terrible (just ask my mum) lol. So I always like to have some belated birthday cards to hand. I seem to send more of these than birthday cards that are on time!!
As the title of this post says I was keeping the card nice and simple. The stamp I used is from C.C Designs, I don't know what she is called as I purchased her from Michelle at the Card Grotto when she was having a clear out of her stamps and listing them on ebay.
The papers are from My minds eye The Lime twist collection and they are called "Happy go lucky"
The images are all coloured with Pro markers. I purchased the little greeting stamp from The craft room.
A little close up of each card, all slighty different from the others.

Wedding Bells

Hi, hope you are all having a good afternoon. Today I have made two cards, one birthday card and one wedding card. I thought I would share the Wedding card first and then the birthday card tomorrow, as it is for a friends birthday which is tomorrow and I know she reads my blog!
For this wedding card I used a Fizzy Moon stamp which is called "Wedding Bells". I love this stamp and it's great for colouring with Pro Markers.
I cut the tag and doily with a die. The Ribbon is Vintage seam binding from The craft room. The flowers and heart pins are also from the Craft room. The backing paper is by Prima and is from the Fairy belle collection.
Here are a couple of close up shots. I hope you like this card. Have a lovely afternoon. I will be back tomorrow with my friends birthday card. Thanks for stopping by. Maria x

2nd Banner post!

Hi again! when I was packing my banner away I realised I could roll it up and get it all in one photo, so just adding this pic. For a closer look please see previous post which is below.

A banner for my craft room.

Well what a lovely day again!! NOT! I don't know about you but all we have had today is rain. Today I want to show you a banner I have made to go on the wall in my craft room. Now because of the size it is very hard to photograph. So please excuse the pictures, they are also quite dark due to the light being rubbish today. The papers and flowers are more colourful in real life!
The pennants and letters are made from MDF which I purchased at the craft room, Newton Abbot. The papers I used are from the timeless collection by Kaisercraft and I also purchsed them at the same place. I edged the paper with Gathered twigs distress ink.
Here are some closer shots, please excuse all the clutter around the banner, but this was the only place I could really spread the banner out. As you can see the Banner spells out the word CREATE, which is what I hope to be doing in my craft room when i'm in there Mojo permitting!! lol.
Well thats me for now, I hope you like my banner. When I have put it up on my wall I will post more photos. Have a great day

Tool storage

Hi everyone, I hope you are enjoying your bank holiday break, you can always guarantee it will rain. Today I want to share an altered storage box/basket. I am always looking for things to store my crafting tools in and when I spotted this in a junk shop for a pound I just had to have it. It was looking rather sorry for itself, covered in cobwebs and soil.
Firstly I washed it all down and then sanded it to give it a key to paint it. I painted it cream and added some trims ect. I kept it simple because obviously it has to be practical too.

And here it is finished, I use it to store my paper towels, glue gun and other tools on top of my desk. Not bad for a pound and a bit of TLC!! I also like it because it is different. Hope you like it too.

Friday 25 May 2012

Well what a lovely day again, today has been really hot here. So to keep up with the summery feel I have a flower project to share. These are origami paper flower pens. I made these last night and had a lot of fun making them.

They look so pretty stood in a pot or jar together. I used a paper pad by Teresa collings to make them, and added buttons to the centres to finish them off.
Don't they look lovely. Below you can see how they look out of the pot. I hope you like them, I sure do. Be back soon, enjoy the sunshine.

Gorjuss Girl card

Hi Everyone, today I have a Gorjuss girl card to show you. I love these stamps by santoro graphics there are so adorable and easy to colour too. I thought I would use a different colour scheme to the usual ones I use and I love the way it turned out. The image has been cut out with a die and then mounted onto the card using 3D foam pads. Some of the hearts have also been mounted on foam pads to give the card some dimension.
Below is another view of the card from a side angle. Hope you like the Black, White and Red combo. Be back soon with another card, Promise not to leave it so long this time!! Have a good day.

Sunday 4 March 2012

Good afternoon, I hope you are all having a relaxing Sunday. The sun has come out here this afternoon which has got me in a summery mood! hence the colours used on this card. I made this card for a friends birthday. I used the Gorjuss Girls stamps and paper pieced their dresses. The paper is from Bo Bunny and is from the Ambrosia collection which has just been released at CHA 2012.

I have distressed the papers and card quite heavily to give the card a shabby look. Obviously with all the dimension that is on this card it will be going into a box rather than an envelope!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Tomorrow I am teaching monochromatic cards so if you are booked into this class I will see you tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by

Cupcake

Good morning everyone, thank goodness it's the weekend! I am trying to catch up with uploading the cards that I have made over the last few weeks. If only we could have a few more hours in each day!
Anyway onto the card. This is a card I made using another Pure innocence stamp by MFT. I really do love these stamps and they are great for using your Pro markers or copics to colour in. The design papers I used are from Basic Grey and the collection is called "Kissing booth."
I used my sewing machine to stitch the papers. I also paper pieced the little girls dress. The sentiment stamp is also from MFT but I can't remember what the set is called. Below is a view of the inside of the card. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you like the card.

Owl note book

Here is a little note book that I have made using my Cinch Binding tool. It is only a small book, it is 13cm square, a perfect size to carry in your bag. The papers I used are from My minds eye. The owl has been made with circle punches, except for his beak which I just cut with a pair of scissors.
The leaves were stamped with a stamp by Hampton arts and are stamped with Versafine Spanish Moss.

Here is a closer look. Hope you like it. Have a great weekend and I will be back soon to post a couple of cards that I have made this week.

Sunday 5 February 2012

I love colouring with Pro markers and copics but sometimes it's nice to use something a little different to get a different effect. Something I use for a different effect sometimes is Distress ink re-inkers. These give a lovely watercolour effect and you can make your image as subtle or as bold as you want simply by adding less or more water to your ink. Here is an image I have been colouring today. She is not finished yet, but I thought I would show you my work in progress. Plus I am still deciding what colour to do her dress and shoes. Here's a close up. Well I will be back to show you the finished image tomorrow. Why not give it a try yourself. Thanks for stopping by

Monday 23 January 2012

Here is a simple card I made last week using a stamp from a set I got free on the front of a magazine (sorry I can't remember which one). I used some paper from my scraps draw to make a strip across my card and with the little bit I had leftover I paper pieced the jumper to match. The image has been coloured in using Pro Markers.
I then cut a white piece of card with my nestabilities Decorative circle die and stuck it to the front of the card. I then mounted the mouse image to the card using 3D foam pads.

The birthday sentiment on the bottom of the card is from My Favourite things. Hope you like it. Have a good day

More Storage

Here is another wall of my craftroom. This is where I store some of my most used tools. The baskets and rails are from Ikea and I use them for storing some of my sprays and stains and also my heat tools and punches.I find this storage idea really handy and you can see where everything is and it is all to hand. Hope you like it.

Finally a card!

And finally here is the card that made all the mess lol, I have made this card well in advance for my friends daughter's birthday in May. She is going to be 1. I am going to add a number and a greeting when I can decide where they are going. The banner at the top of the card spells her name, this is mounted on pop dots to make it stand away from the card as is the little girl sitting in her bed. I have paper pieced the image with several different papers. This is one of my favourite techniques.

And here is a closer look. I hope you like this card. I know it is very pink, but having 2 boys I don't get to have much pink stuff in the house! Enjoy what is left of your weekend.
