It's a wrap!! part 2

Hi all, hope you are all getting used to this colder weather! Well today I made a start on the homemade christmas paper I want to make. For this paper I am using brown parcel paper from WHSmith. The snowflake stamps are from Wildrose studios and are stamped in Versafine ink in Vintage sepia. It's always good to start stamping with your largest stamp and then use the smaller ones to fill in the gaps.

You can see I am using four different sized snowflakes for my paper. These are the same stamps I used on the tags in my last post.

And to finish I used one of my handmade tags and I have made some Tim Holtz rosettes to use instead of parcel bows. Hope you like these. I am going to be doing some more of the same design but this time I am going to change the colour ink to Crimson Red.

Hope you have a good day. Thanks for stopping by

It's a wrap!!

Well with christmas fast approaching I decided it was time I got myself organised, I need to make a start on making my christmas cards and I also decided that this year I would make all my own wrapping paper and gift tags. Tonight I decided to start on the gift tags. For the tags I have used Ivory Southfield Super Smooth card, Kraft Cardstock, Snowflake stamps by Wild rose Studios, Vintage sepia Versafine Ink pad and some Brown stripe bakers twine and some gold bells.Firstly I punched some circles of Ivory card with a 13/4 " circle punch and then stamped a medium snowflake with Brown ink. Then I punched some 2" scallop circles out of Kraft Cardstock and then matted them together. Then with a tag shape die I cut the tags out of Ivory super smooth card and stamped the greeting and small snowflakes on them. I then mounted the matted snowflake circles onto the tag with 3D foam pads. To finish I tied a bell onto the card with a piece of bakers twine.

And here are the finished Items, of course I still have many more to make lol, but at least I have made a start on this mamouth task!!

Hope you have a lovely weekend.

Another Christmas card

Good afternoon everyone, I have finally managed to get blogger to upload some photos, I have been trying to post them for an hour and for some reason it just wasn't working. I think there might have been Gremlins in the system lol. Anyway here is a card I made last night. The stamp is a magnolia stamp and it is called Tilda with fir tree. I coloured the image with Pro markers and it is mounted to the card with 3D foam pads.

The flowers are a mixture of silk, paper and resin flowers and I have edged them with clear stickles Glitter glue to make them sparkle. I have also used stickles around the sentiment and on Tildas tree, although the camera doesn't really show the sparkle that well. I hope you like this little card and hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Christmas cards

Hi Everyone, I hope you have all had a great weekend. Mine has been quite busy, Firstly I have been making some card sample for some upcoming classes and then preparing for this weeks classes at the craftroom Newton Abbot. After everything was done for this week I decided it was time I tried to get some of my christmas cards done. Christmas always seems to creep up on me all of a sudden and then it is a mad panic to get them done.So anyway I managed to get 2 christmas cards made, One for a little Girl and one for a little boy. These are for my friends children and they will have their names on them when they recieve them. I haven't added the names yet as it will give the game away about who they are for.

I also managed to start my christmas shopping today!! I now have 2 presents bought! lol , well at least it is a start. Well thats me for now.

Happy crafting and thanks for stopping by

The start of a Project

So I thought I would share with you a project that I have started today. This card is for a class that I am teaching in a few weeks. I thought I would use my favorite product on this card, and yes you have guessed it, my favorite thing to use is Tim Holtz distress inks. I have also added in some distress stains, which are new to the shop where I teach my classes. I won't show you a pictures of my whole desk as the stuff on it is stacked high, I am now working in a space on my desk that is no bigger than about 8" square lol.

So here are some sneak peeks of the project so far!! I am hoping to finish this tomorrow and then I will show more pictures.

As you have proberly figured out the stamp set I am using is Tim Holtz Papillon rubber stamp set. This is also available at the craft room. Well I will be back tomorrow with an update and more pictures.

La la lands Marcia

Firstly I would like to apologise for the terrible quality of the photo, but the lighting here is terrible. Outside the rain is pouring and it's blowing a gale and really dark. The colours in the photo are really dull but in real life they are very bright.

The nestabilities used are a set that I purchased at The craft room. And the stamp is Marcia from Lala land crafts. I have coloured her with Pro Markers and also paper pieced her dress. Hope everyone is having a good week, nearly the weekend :0) thank goodness. I think a nice relaxing weekend is in order. TTFN

Friendship card

Hi everyone, Hope you are enjoying this glorious sunshine that we have today. Today I have a card to share with you that was made yesterday. I love how this card has turned out. I love the colours of the papers with the tiny floral print on them.

Dressform - Tim Holtz Sewing room die

Papers - Blush collection, lost and found by My Minds eye.

Sewing machine die - Joy! crafts (from the Craftroom Newton Abbot)

Tape measure from stash

Ribbon on dress from The craft room Newton abbot

Here is a view of the inside of the card, I just added a strip of the designer paper and then stamped the dressform over the top

Hope you like this card, I love it. As you can guess this will be another boxed card as it is too dimensional to fit into an envelope

Hi Everyone, I hope you are enjoying your weekend so far. Today I have a card the same as one I did a few weeks ago for my friends birthday. This time I have made it in my favourite colour Pink, the other card was blue as my friend is not so keen on Pink as me.This card is a box card as it does not fit into an envelope with all the flowers I have added to the front of the card. I coloured the image with my Pro markers.

And here is a view of the inside of the card, I have used the scraps of paper left over from doing the front of the card to decorate the inside by cutting them out with my Die-namics dies and then stamped a birthday greeting in the middle. The stamp is from a clear set from Stampendous and is called "birthday assortment" I hope you like the card.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, And just to let you know I still have some of my Penny black rubber stamps on ebay my ebay I.D is maricardmaking*2007

I coloured the image with my Pro Markers and he has been added to the card with 3D foam pads. The waves have been die cut with a Die-namics die that I recently purchased, I die cut two different shades of blue and just reversed one so the waves go different directions.

For a Friends Birthday

Here is a card that I have made for a friends birthday. I haven't used my sugar nellie stamps in ages so thought I would give them an outing!! I cannot remember for the life of me what this one was called as I do not keep their packets.I have coloured the image with my Pro markers and edged the image with Peeled paint distress ink. I have also edged the patterned paper with the same distress ink too.
I am quite pleased with this card as it is out of my PINK comfort zone!!
I hope you are all having a good week. I am having a busy one working and decorating, trying to get time to craft is proving quite difficult! Also with the teachers strike our school is closed today so I have had my youngest at home to amuse aswell.
Be back soon with another card
Maria :0) x

Here is a view of the inside of the card, I have kept it quite simple.

I lied......

As the title says I lied! in my last post I said I would be back with a project that wouldn't contain a pure innocence stamp, and guess what.......it does! This week I purchased 2 more of these little cuties and I just had to make a card with them. The first set is called "Honey Bee" and the second set is called "Ladybug" I coloured the images with my Pro Markers.

The papers I used for this card are from a paper pad from My Minds Eye and it is called "Life of the party" I also used my die-namics dies to cut out the grass and the clouds.

Here is a picture taken at an angle so you can see the dimension of the card

And here is a picture of the inside of the card. Hope you like it and hope everyone is having a good weekend. Be back soon

Another card from the weekend

Here is another card I made at the weekend. again the image is a pure innocence stamp set by MFT. I made this card to go with the decorated note pad that I made the other week.I used the papers from the same My minds eye paper pad that I have used for the two previous

cards. Below is a picture of the inside of the card.

Hope everyone is having a good week, will be back soon with some more projects, which will NOT have any pure innocence images on them! LOL.

4 Leaf Clover

Here is another card made with another pure innocence stamp (can you tell that I really like these stamps at the moment) from MFT. As the title says the set used this time is called "4 Leaf Clover." The card has been made in the same way as the one below by paper piecing her dress with matching papers.
Hope you like it, and hope I haven't shocked anyone with my two posts in one day lol.

I coloured her with copics and paper pieced her using a paper pad from My minds eye called Happy go lucky.

Altered note pad

Hi everyone, I hope you are having a lovely weekend despite the horrible rain that we seem to be having today. Here is a little note pad that I purchased in paper chase yesterday, I love these little note book as the covers are made of very thick chipboard. They are £2.25 to buy and are excellent quality.Firstly I made a made a layer with some burgandy card stock and some patterened paper. The paper pad I used is the Lime twist pad by My minds eye and it is called Happy go lucky.. Then I used my Die-namics to cut the layered labels out, then stamped on them with a stamp from the Pure innocence stamp set called A box of love.

The little girl is from the same stamp set. To finish the note pad off I used a paper daisy that is adhered with hot glue.

I have also made a card to match. Hope you like it.

I have decorated the inside of the mini with tags, pockets and tim holtz hardware but blogger is only letting me add 3 pics at a time for some reason. The mini fits perfectly inside the wooden box and has plenty of room for photos ect.

Hope you all like it, will be back soon with some more projects. Hope everyone is having a great day.

Friday 15 April 2011

Hi Everyone, Well this is a very late post 11.27pm!!! My post is a bit later today for a few reasons, Firstly I had a full class of nine ladies today making Vintage style Shabby chic cards. And secondly I came home to find our Large 4ft fish tank had split down the side emptying half its water all over my dinning room carpet! Thankfully the fish are ok but to say I wasn't pleased is an understatement!! lol. Though it could have been a lot worse. So to get back to the project, in the top photo it shows all the board pages and papers cut to size ready to be stuck together. Again I am using the "butterfly Garden" collection by Pink Paisley so that the mini matches the box it will go in.
Here are the pages after they have been covered with the papers. I have also stamped onto the pages using some of my Tim Holtz stamps by Stampers Anonymous. The set I used is called Papillon and Is stamped with Versafine Vintage Sepia ink. I have also rounded the edges of the my pages with my Zutter Round-it-all tool and then edged them by rubbing over Walnut Stain distress ink. In the picture you can also see the Tim Holtz book plate that I will fix to the front of the mini.

Hope you're liking the project so far

Sorry for the late post, be sure to pop back tomorrow to see the next stage. I will post once I have been out and bought a new Fish tank!!!

Day 3

Hi everyone, here we are on day 3, I have nearly completed the outside of the box now, although at the moment I feel there is something missing! On the front of the box I have added a Keyhole, which is from Tim Holtz's Idea-ology range. I added this to the box using Glossy accents.I have also added some trims to the top of the box, both of these trims are from The craft room. The top of the box has also been decorated with some paper flowers that I have sprayed with Glimmer mist.
Sorry for the dark pictures, outside is so dark as the rain hasn't stopped for the last hour! It's hard to see in these photos but the feet have now been added to the box too.
I'm still not quite sure If the box is finished so I am going to set that aside for the next few days while I start to make the mini album to go inside the box. I hope you are all liking the project so far, be sure to pop back for next post.

Have a good afternoon

Wednesday 13 April 2011

Hi everyone, well this is day 2, Once my box and feet were dry I applied some Gold Leaf Rub and Buff. You can buy this from most craft shops of Hardware stores. One down three more to go!
In the picture below I have coloured all the box feet and then applied some designer paper to the top of my box. The paper I have used is from the Butterfly Garden collection by Pink Paisley. To apply the paper I used Mod podge, then once it was stuck down I applied a thin coat of Mod podge over the paper to seal it. The reason I do this is to protect the paper as the item will be handled alot.
The little fairy was on the bottom of the 12 x 12 paper so I had to cut her out and stick her on to the box and for this I also used Mod podge.

Once I have made this box I am going to make a mini album that matches to fit into the box, Please come back for the next post to see what happens next.
