Treat box and matching card

Afternoon everyone, hope you had a great weekend. Mine was busy but enjoyable wth a little bit of crafting whenever I could grap a bit of time. This is one of the projects I made at the weekend, I had seen some little treat boxes like this on the internet that had been made with a sizzix XL die and as I don't have the die I decided to make my own template and make it a little bigger and a slightly different shape.

I must admit I am really pleased with how it turned out. I have also made a matching card. I made this one for a birthday but it would make an excellent gift for Valentines or Easter.

Over the weekend I also got chance to make some other projects so I will be back later today with another post!

A couple more photos

Here are two more photos of my new craft room. The first is of the rails on which I keep my punches ect. Just like the rest of the furniture these are from Ikea and if you are looking for something like this they are called Bygel rails. I have a few more to put up yet, but I am waiting to see how the room works before deciding where they will go.The second pic is of my ink pad storage rack. I find this rack so handy because you can see all your ink pads and they are always to hand. Click Here to see their website. This rack doesn't have to hung on a wall it will also stand on its own too.

Underneath I have another Bygel rail from Ikea, the pots that go on it are also Ikea. These hold my craft knives, pens, ball tools, sanding blocks and many other things. I have had time to work in my little room today and have made three cards. It's so much easier to work in now it is all organised.
Hope everyone is having a good week

The Room is finished! thank you Hubby x

Ok so here is my finished room, I can safely say I am never going to do this room again and it was more stress than moving house! I have realised how much stuff I actually have especially 12 x 12 paper lol.
The good thing is that it is finished and I am pleased I done it (Well hubby done it!) though I did help with stripping wallpaper.
All of my new furniture is from Ikea and the pigeon hole units are Ikea Expedit units which in my opinion are fabulous.

As blogger is playing up it will only let me upload three photos at a time for some reason, I will post more pics tomorrow. Hope everyone is having a good week. Will be back tomorrow to show my first card made in my new room.

Tuesday's pics

Ok so this is how the room looked on Monday once everything had been taken out and I began to strip the wallpaper off the walls. Then on Tuesday my lovely hubby fitted the new windows and since then the walls have been replastered and painted. I will show those pictures tomorrow as I want to take them in daylight.
Tomorrow the carpet is being put down and then we can start building the new furniture, so exciting!

Well will upload more photos tomorrow. So goodnight and hope you all have a good weekend.

New year...New craft room

Hi everyone and a happy new year. This post is about my long awaited craftroom make over.
Now I really don't like clutter around the house but there has always been a different rule for my craft room as you can see! After years of crafting and also Craft shopping (Shhh!) my room has finally become a cluttered disorganised mess. This room used to be my kitchen before we had our extention, hence the backdoor at the back of the picture. So Finally we took the plunge and decided to take the old door out and block it up and then add a window. The walls are to be replastered and some decorating and organising is desperatley needed as you can see in the pictures below.

For my job I have to prep my classes in here which was becoming an impossible task.

I forgot to take a picture before I started clearing it out but this is it not long after I started!

Will post some more pics tomorrow to show you the progress we have made. Hope you have all had a great day and have a fabulous weekend.

Altered Wooden calender

Hi Everyone, Long time no blog!! I have been extremely busy the last few months what with teaching three classes a week and all the prep that goes along with that the time just seems to slip by! Well last week I had a few days off and decided to do a little project just for fun. I have had this calender for ages just tucked away in a draw so decided to alter it.
Firstly I painted it with brown acrylic paint.

Then once the paint had dried I applied some Gold Leaf Rub and Buff.

Then using Modge podge I covered with designer paper by K&Co from Brenda Waltons Madeline Collection. I really love these papers they are so pretty

Here is a closer pic!

Then I distressed the number and month blocks with Walnut stain Distress ink and some more rub and buff.

Please excuse the yucky craft mat lol!!

And here is the finished item. I am really pleased with the way this has turned out. I hope you like it too. Please feel free to leave a comment as I always enjoy readding what you guys think.
Hope everyone is well

Bracelet number 2

Here is another coiled bracelet that I have made, this time in pinks and greens. These bracelets take around 3 hours to make. ( my first one took about four hours so i'm getting quicker!!)I really like the end result of this bracelet. I have also bought some blue beads to make another so will post a photo once I have finished it.
